Movo Canopy Compatibility Checklist
Before you order your Movo Canopy, take a quick moment to make sure your scooter is compatible!
Most medical mobility scooters already meet these requirements — but if you ride a recreational or specialty model, please double-check the points below to ensure a perfect fit.
1. Look for the standard accessory port under your seat.
- Your scooter should have a metal square tube, often called a hitch, located right under the seat.
- This port should have 1″ x 1″ interior dimensions — the universal size for most medical scooters.
2. Make sure the accessory port is centered and sturdy.
- The port should sit in the center, at the rear base of the seat, and be strong enough to support part of the canopy’s weight.
If your port looks off-center or has a unique shape, don’t worry — we offer hitch adapters to help make it compatible.

3. Check your seat backrest height.
- For the best stability and performance, we recommend a minimum seat backrest height of 20 inches when using the rear canopy support.
- Your Movo Canopy can still be installed without this support if needed.
4. Confirm your scooter has armrests.
- The Movo Canopy attaches to both the armrests and the rear hitch for maximum strength and balance.
- Don’t worry — the canopy still works even without armrest attachments.
5. Measure your seat width.
- Your seat should be under 26 inches wide, including the armrests.
- Most standard seats are 20 inches wide, with a total width of 24–25 inches from armrest to armrest.
If your model has adjustable armrests, make sure they can fit comfortably within the 26- inch canopy frame. - Tip: If you’re unsure about your scooter’s setup, visit our Tested Scooters page to see if your model is one we’ve already confirmed works with the Movo Canopy.
